BioVind® Disposable cartridge

BioVind Assay Cartridges are single-use, self-contained test units designed to work seamlessly with the BioVind Base Station. Each cartridge contains a pre-loaded, lyophilized DNA assay configured to detect specific microorganisms associated with microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC), biofouling, and other microbial risks in oil and gas and utility infrastructure.

The operator simply adds a small sample of collected fluid to the cartridge, inserts it into the Base Station, and the automated detection process begins. No reagent preparation, pipetting, or laboratory handling is required. The closed cartridge design ensures consistency, minimizes contamination risk, and allows reliable testing to be performed directly at the sampling location.

Cartridges are packaged in boxes of 21 units to align with routine field sampling programs and monthly monitoring schedules. Each cartridge is clearly labeled by assay type and lot number for traceability, quality control, and documentation purposes.

BioVind offers a growing library of standard assays targeting organisms commonly associated with corrosion and process impacts, and custom assays can be developed for site-specific microbial threats. This allows operators to tailor their monitoring program to the exact organisms present in their environment.
