Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion (MIC)
Microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC) is a major challenge for the oil and gas industry, contributing to leaks, equipment failures, and costly downtime. Identifying the microbial drivers of corrosion traditionally requires lab-based testing that can take weeks to complete, delaying maintenance and increasing operational risk.

BioVind is developing a DNA-based microbial detection platform designed to provide fast, on-site identification of corrosion-related microbes. Our approach aims to detect up to 18 key microbial species within 30 minutes, giving operators timely insight into the biological factors behind corrosion.

Through ongoing R&D, we are refining this technology into a portable test kit that can help the energy sector move toward more proactive, data-driven corrosion management.
